  1. Hello there, my name is Sharon Ben-Tal and i really like what you are doing here. I am an artist showing at various galleries and doing the whole studio practice thing which is so isolating. Reading about this project is so interesting to me because it is outside of my studio and in the community in an interesting and suggestive way that involves and questions space and bureauocratic B.S.. This idea is so subtle and so full of possibility! I would love to receive more information and hopefully come to one of your meetings or possibly put up a sign or more. I will also think about a project.

    Thank you,
    sharon

I would love to go and be part of the movement…but I feel already involved and I’m thinking on how..from where I am(Mexico)…I can be physical part of it.

I hope when I’m in LA I can join to an activity.

All the best and keep on going!

I just drove down Glendale Blvd on my way to work (coming from Atwater, headed downtown) and noticed the sign. What a pleasure to stumble (or whatever the equivalent is when you’re in a car… crumble?) upon a bit of urban mischief. I’d love to be a part of the next project or something.

  5. Caught sight of an ‘islands’ sign neatly mounted on Vignes where it dips under the 101 at the edge of the Arts District. Thanks for enlivening the environment and provoking some good questions about the use of public space!

  6. was tickled to see your sign on glendale/berkeley on my daily commute home. keep up the great work and keep me informed!

  7. Naomi Says:

Saw your sign in Glassell Park near York – can’t wait to be involved.

  8. Paul Says:

I saw your sign @ Traction & 4th this morning on my way to work.

    Thanks for the mental help

  9. Just awoke to the sign on the island at Sunset and Barrington in Brentwood…no pictures yet. On Wednesday at 7 AM it is the gathering spot for all the girls who make the bus ride to Marlborough School in Hancock Park. Can I submit a photo of this sweet bit of public land use?
